Social distancing day 6: family band

I'm a runner.  I run most days but with everything closed it has gotten harder and my choices are often the treadmill in the basement or getting up and running outside when it's really cold and dark.  Today was so nice to take a long run in the beautiful Boise foothills.  11.5 miles of trails and I felt much better.  Jeff also managed to sneak out for a short mountain bike ride today.  Tomorrow we are going to switch and I take a shorter run and he takes a longer ride.

We spent some time outside today switching between playing and getting a little yard work done outside today.  It was really a lovely spring day and we got a lot of the pots and planters cleaned out and a little raking done in addition so some good outside fun.

The highlight of the day was family band time.  I'm not particularly musical but my husband, Jeff, is.  He is in a band and plays drums but he also has several guitars, bass guitars and a keyboard.  Both kids love music and getting to play in Papa's music room is always a treat.  Usually I don't participate too much but Wren was excited to have me join and Flynt just loves to play guitar with Papa right now.  This easily could have lasted much longer if it wasn't for that pesky dinner thing getting in the way.

Wren was so excited to play the bass.

This is part of a song that Wren wrote herself with zero parental input.

This is the whole family trying to play and sing Wren's fire truck song.

So funny, she was doing better until I tried to video her.  She was very distracted by it.  She loves singing along to this song.

This is one of Flynt's favorite songs right now, "Car Alarm" song.
